I am personally a big fan of Hayley Warnham. She is an illustrator / artist. This series, titled “Everything is Beautiful”, depicts vintage photographs forcefully collaged with flat shapes and silhouettes. The title of the series signalling how everything is beautiful seems to convey an ambiguous message in that the colourized potions of the work is what makes a grayscale past “beautiful”. In contrast to the bright colours the artist puts onto these photographs, it may suggest that the past carry some form of tragedy. This unique juxtaposition establishes an interesting perspective in regards to the difference in time, and also the emotions the present and the past evokes respectively.
