Featured: Hyper-Realistic Portraiture Paintings by Mary Jane Ansell

The very moment I saw these paintings by Mary Jane Ansell I was taken back with surprise; I had mistaken the images for photographs and upon close inspection found, they were paintings.

I visit her portfolio and I saw not only a few, but many of her amazing portraiture paintings, all of them having one thing in common – the hard work of the artist resontating from each image. All of them were hyper-realistic.

Here it a little Bio regarding Mary Jane:

Mary Jane Ansell graduated from Brighton University in 1994 and now works from her studio in the heart of Brighton’s North Laine.

After only beginning to seriously exhibit her work in 2002, she was selected for both the 2004 BP National Portrait Award and The Daily Mails Not the Turner Prize she was also prize-winner in LondonArts Art of Love competition held at the Arndale Gallery, Cork Street London.
