The moment I saw Zack Ahern’s photographs I was captivated by their ideas and creativity – and the way they were finely done with a fine eye to the details and the concept which was ‘to-be’ transmitted to the people.

I was born on the 4th of December in 1988, just close enough to Christmas to get those two for one Christmas-birthday gifts. A first grade “dropout” I was homeschooled by my parents until high-school until I attended a distance learning program through Laurel Springs High School before graduating in 2007. I am currently enrolled in Oklahoma State University and will graduate next Fall with a degree in Educational Psychology. I discovered my passion for Photoshop before I discovered my passion for photography when my mom got a copy of Photoshop 7.0 for her job when I was fourteen. I practiced editing whenever I could use her computer, teaching myself mostly by experimentation and online tutorials.

Though I’d never been very interested in photography, I grew up on 25 acres of farmland and was constantly exploring and capturing various creatures to bring home, much to my mother’s dismay. I decided when I turned sixteen that a better way to bring nature home was with photographs and bought my first camera; a Kodak DX7590 point and shoot. I shot with that camera until it hardly worked anymore before upgrading to a DSLR in 2007. Over the next 4 years, I completed two yearly photography projects and really decided to pursue photography as a full time career.
