Nick Gentry is a British graduate from Central St Martins who has uptil now showcased his work in great countries, like the US, UK and other parts of Europe. He is inspired by the social impact of the new internet culture and makes good use of old hardware items to generate something artsy!
What kind of work is Nick doing? In my opinion, one of the best I’ve seen, and one of the most environmentally friendly ones too!
His portraits use a combination of obsolete media formats, making a comment on waste culture, life cycles and identity. Using old disks as a canvas, these artefacts are combined to create photo-fits and identities that may draw connections to the personal information that is then forever locked down underneath the paint.
