I must say, Laura Makabresku’s portraits is one of the top, if not the top portrait styles I have ever witnessed. Her work is personally by far my favourite.This series is titled “A fairy tale about a girl who woke up the evil and let it touch her.” The gloominess of the atmosphere simply reflects the title perfectly. Of course, Makabresku played around with overlaying of layers of the model’s face and bedsheets, yet the seemingly flat quality of those projection strangely has something so fittingly to do with the “evil” of her work. I cannot stress enough how well the concept of laying sheet fold marks over the silky smooth body is.
