Born in 1961, J.D. Doria is a multi-disciplinary artist who is currently living and working in Tel Aviv. I must say, Doria’s portfolio showcases some very impressive, while strange, projects. This series, titled “Organic Memory” captures what seems to be paint samples. It is without a doubt that his work carries a strict clinical aesthetics. The fact that his style is obsessively clean (even just look at his website layout!) is beautifully contrasted by the seemingly unpredictable and uncontrollable characteristics of his subjects. The way shapes form and the liquid flows casted under a birds eye view of a biologist is a clever relationship.
