The initial impression I have upon viewing the portfolio of Duarte Vitoria is precisely “Overwhelmingly expressive”. These painted portraits carry such emotional intensity they are hard to ignore. The ways facial expressions are portrayed almost seems surreal in a sense that every wrinkle, every muscle, and every hair is accentuated and accelerated.
