Thomas Herbrich is a dedicated artist. You might have seen thousands of smoke themed photographs on the Internet. A lot of them Photoshopped to perfection. A lot of them being really creative too. However, Thomas Herbrich is so dedicated to his work, that he took 100,000 images of smoke over a period of 6-months, and decided that he would only show the 15-20 images capable of being shown to the world.
He wanted to capture the perfect smoke shape. As you might know, it’s almost possible to control how smoke might rise or which shape it might take. Thus, I highly appreciate the effort put in by Thomas Herbrich. It’s brilliant.
Here is a little bio about the photographer:
I was not always a photographer. I learned photography in a studio for advertising photography, mainly product shots. My culture shock I experienced when I Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece for the first time “2001 – A Space Odyssey” saw. The beauty and magic of this film threw me right out of the web. I wanted to film!
My motto is: “Surprise yourself and your audience” (the order is important!)
