Based in New York, Dusdin Condren’s portrait photography immediately captured my attention while browsing for talented artists. As a portrait photographer myself, one has to understand the difficulty in creating good portraits. The emotional connection between the subjects and the photographer (and viewer) is crucial serves to be a foundation of a successful portrait. In the case with Dusdin Condren’s work, pay attention to his subjects’ eyes. The presence of the human eye, or the lack there of, is a powerful tool in controlling the tone of the photograph. This single point of detail in any portrait becomes the connection between the photographer and the photographed. It dictates the emotions driven. Things such as body language, the environment, and even the type of film aesthetics naturally fall into order.
