World Capture: Chernobyl

Chernobyl was a nuclear power plant located in Ukraine. A catastrophic nuclear accident that occurred on 26 April 1986 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant which doomed the power-plant, and the nearby city of Prypiat.

Today, marking almost 26 years since the disaster Chernobyl remains haunted by it’s own radioactivity that still reeks high even as of today near the power-plant especially despite being contained. The area around Chernobyl became open to tourists in 2011 – though it was allowed for a few people to go inside before that time: though people had to go through strict inspections at guarded check-points.

Here are some photographs from Chernobyl and Pyrpiat that show the now deserted area – left untouched by mankind. Reminding people of that very hour the explosion occurred.
